Packaging Design
Packaging is an integral part of product marketing and communication. From the shelf, it will speak to the consumer, informing and persuading them to pick it over the competition. A well-crafted packaging is also a powerful branding opportunity, it will cast a strong first impression on any consumer browsing the shelves.
I've developed packaging solutions for products destined for retail spaces, Amazon Marketplace, and other online shops. Worked on all sorts of formats ranging from boxes to blisters, labels to tags, and even unusual items like sleeves or tins. I've advised clients on shapes, material choices, and special printing effects.
If you want to bring a new product to the market, or revamp an existing one, get in touch and let's craft a remarkable packaging for it.
Packaging 3D renders
Displaying images of your product packaging to online shoppers positively influences their purchase decision, increasing the likelihood of closing a sale. But getting your packaging photographed in a studio can be a time intensive and costly operation.
With a digital workflow independent of physical restrictions, 3D rendering is a fast and cost-effective alternative to achieve photorealistic images. It allows for consistent product visuals and illumination across all images and sessions, easy capture of different angles, or even adding more products at a later time.
3D rendering is often an add-on to my packaging design services, but I can still help you even if you already have a design in place. Reach out with your request to get started.
Print Design
Despite rumours, print is here to stay. It continues to be a fundamental way to connect with your customers and partners. Having a set of documents to clearly communicate with them is a vital business advantage you want to avoid second guessing.
My work spans both short and long forms documents. Short form documents have one page, and they include items like business cards, stationery, leaflets, book covers or even shopping bags. Long form documents have multiple pages, such as product catalogues, brochures, reports, or restaurant menus.
The above is not an exhaustive list, as long as its ink on a substrate, that still counts as print design. If your business needs help with something not listed, don't hesitate to contact me, and I'll be happy to help.
Illustration
An illustration grabs attention like no other device. On a page, people will gravitate to images first, often determining if they'll read the text at all. Its presence in a product packaging can be the deciding factor leading to a purchase. Usage in merchandising is critical.
Illustrations also serve a vital descriptive function. What would take a long passage of hard to grasp text to describe, can be summarized with an image that will be intuitively and effortlessly understood. Line illustrations describing product features and usage in packaging design and instruction manuals are perfect examples of this.
An illustration isn't just a pretty adornment, it's a critical communication device, an investment with a solid return on investment. Send me a message, let's add a spice of originality and communication to your products.
Identity Design
The most important asset of a business may very well be its identity. It's how customers and partners recognize, interact and recommend it.
The logo is the foundation of an identity, a visual mark unequivocally identifying the business. A colour palette sets the tone and helps punctuate information. Typography, the choice of fonts and their formatting, informs written communication.
Together, they form an identity system. A brand guide will ensure its consistent use in all applications. This document explains how to use all elements across different mediums and situations.
Whether you're a new business wanting to set your mark, or an established one looking for a rebranding, tell me your story, and together we'll build your identity.
FAQs
How much will my project cost?
No doubt one of your top questions since everyone has a budget. However, without knowing the specific objectives you want to achieve it's very hard to give you a number, every project has different requirements and levels of complexity that need to be accounted for.
Get in touch explaining your request, and I can estimate a ballpark value. From there we can continue the conversation and understand the fine nuances of your specific project.
Can we work together if we're in different countries?
Absolutely! And you're in good company too, most of my clients are outside of Portugal, with some being as far away as Australia. I've established a remote work method that handles all areas of a project in a reliable and transparent way, allowing you to be engaged with every step of the process no matter where you are.
Meeting in person is always a pleasure, but remote work is such a time and money saver that even my local clients prefer it.
What if I never hired a designer before?
Nothing to worry about, there's a first for everything! Let me know this is the case, and I'll take extra care to explain all steps involved in getting a project from just an idea to a working solution.
What is my role as a client?
Work on a design or illustration project is a collaboration and your input is fundamental to its success. After an initial conversation to determine what direction to follow, I will often get back to you with a work in progress. This keeps you informed of the project status and allows me to hear your feedback.
I don't have a clear idea of what I want
You may not know what you need in terms of files and formats, but you know what objective you'd like to reach. Tell me about it, and I'll be happy to take care of all technical aspects to make it happen.
